Adelaide Thinkers in Residence - Carla Rinaldi in South Ausrtalia
The Adelaide Thinkers in Residence Program brings world-class thinkers to Adelaide to undertake residences of 2-6 months. The Thinkers assist South Australia to build on its climate of creativity, innovation and excellence and provide the state with strategies for future development in the arts and sciences, social policy, environmental sustainability and economic development. Each Thinker has a tailored program of activities, including mentoring, presenting a public lecture and writing a final report.
REAIE is delighted that Carla Rinaldi from Reggio Emilia has accepted the invitation of the Government of South Australia to be one of their thinkers in 2012. REAIE is also excited to have been invited to be a Residency partner, along with key bodies in South Australia, to support and collaborate with Carla and the South Australian Government in supporting this project. Jan Millikan is representing REAIE at the Residency meetings in Adelaide in collaboration with the committee of REAIE and the REAIE Adelaide (SA) Network group.
This Residency will be known as the:
Rinaldi Residency: Re-imagining Childhood
Carla will be in Adelaide on three occasions during 2012
March 12th – 30th
August 1st – 21st
November 5th – 26th
This is a South Australian Government initiative with anticipated outcomes related to reconceptualising the child and childhood from the perspective of all those involved with and for children. REAIE believes that although this project is essentially tied to South Australia it has the possibility to influence policy principles and practice across the whole of Australia. It is anticipated that REAIE will be organising a one day conference in Adelaide with Carla as the keynote speaker. This will possibly be during August 2012. Further information will be provided as soon as this possibility can be confirmed.
