Network Meetings

Canberra District Network

When: Thursday 24th May 2018

Where: Canberra Grammar School - Southside ELC

Time: 6.00pm - 8.30pm

Making Learning Visible through Documentation - presented Tanya Stevenson and staff from Canberra Grammar who are completing the Harvard course

This workshop will look at how documentation can be used as a planning and monitoring tool to give feedback to the educators and children. It will explore various ways to document learning and look at various methods of analysing data. This workshop will be based on a 10 week course from Harvard University. It will explore the importance of group learning, the four core practices of documentation and how they serve both formative and summative assessment purposes and how this can complement standardised testing. It will demonstrate how this work can transmit culture, values and democracy.

Tanya Stevenson has also visited Reggio three times and is the current co-ordinator of the Canberra network. Tanya has worked in the area for over 20 years and is the pedagogical leader for two services. She has a background in PYP as well as Reggio and is currently completing her 5th  course with Harvard University.

AnchorREsearch Conversations NSW

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN for REsearch Conversations for 2018!

REsearch Conversations is a Reggio Emilia Australia Information Exchange (REAIE) network group that meets in the northern suburbs of Sydney, organised by a team of volunteer convenors.

It is designed for teachers who have a desire to intentionally come together to build strong collegial connections and to explore the inspiration and provocation of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project in Northern Italy.

Each term we host and facilitate opportunities for educators to connect and learn together through professional conversation, research and the sharing of ideas. A strong value that guides our times together is a commitment to ‘delve deep’ in our thinking about the nature of education, learning and humanity.

Our research in 2018 will be shaped by the notion of education as a ‘landscape of transformation’. This focus has been chosen as a way of pre-researching ideas of transformation ahead of the 2019 REAIE Conference in Perth, which carries the same theme.

2018 MEETING DATES

Tuesday 6 March - Highfields School Library, Lindfield

Tuesday 8 May - Highfields School Library, Lindfield

Tuesday 14 August - Highfields School Library, Lindfield
