Adelaide Network

The Adelaide Network invites you and your team to join them for two exciting conversations about how the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach to education have been applied in two different settings: a regional community and a reception classroom. They will start with a video link up with Sally Gower who is working with the principles of Reggio Emilia in the South East of the state. You will then have the opportunity to join the Reception team at CBC who will be sharing how they have been working together to start implementing the REAIE approach in their classroom. 
 
The Adelaide Network continues to welcome new members. If you are new, they hope that after attending a meeting you will join REAIE as a financial member and look forward to attending further meetings, receiving newsletters, the Challenge Journal and other professional learning opportunities. The Research Group continue to explore the notion of teacher as researcher.

Option 2: Reading group

Option 3: Starting your Reggio Journey 
A chance to discuss and explore one of the principles (the hundred languages, participation, listening, learning as a process of individual and group construction, educational research, educational documentation, progettazione, organisation, environments, spaces and relations, professional development, assessment).

Option 4: Site workshop  FULLY BOOKED
The CBC Reception teaching team Sharon Moten and Angela Giglio will share their journey in implementing the Reggio principles within their classroom with a focus on documentation.

Children learn about themselves and construct their own identity within the context of their families and communities. This includes their relationships with people, places and things and the actions and responses of others. Identity is not fixed. It is shaped by experiences. When children have positive experiences they develop an understanding of themselves as significant and respected, and feel a sense of belonging. Relationships are the foundations for the construction of identity – ‘who I am’, ‘how I belong’, and ‘what is my influence?’ (Belonging, Being and Becoming – The Early Years Framework for Australia p.20)

including the context we are in, the children, families and educators.
 
What is the Identity of your setting? 
 
What makes your place special?
 
Do I know the context of my community?
 
What impact do you have on this Identity?
 
How does the relationship that children have within your setting influence and shape their identity?
 
We invite you to join us for an early evening of workshopping and dialogue to think about, and explore these questions together.   There will be opportunities to share a project that you have been involved in that explores or is linked to your Identity or ‘Identity’; engage in discussion or just listen to what others have to share.
